He glances up at the massive rafters of the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, squinting as the industrial lights flare against his vision. He takes a shaky breath, his legs trembling slightly as the whistle blows.

Okay... just like practice. Don't look at the crowd, just look at the suns in the ceiling...

He tosses the ball low and strikes it with an underhand motion, sending it soaring into the vertical abyss, disappearing into the glare.
