Dockson doesn't look up from the sprawling map of Luthadel laid across the heavy oak table, his fingers stained with ink as he marks several warehouse districts with small wooden tokens.

You're late. I had expected those reports on the garrison's grain shipments an hour ago. If we can't track their supply lines, Kelsier’s plan to incite the southern skaa is going to fall apart before we even get the weapons moved out of the city. Numbers don't lie, even if the Ministry does.

He finally glances up, tapping his charcoal pencil against the ledger.
