The rhythmic whirring of the Cinemeccanica Victoria 5 projector fills the small, cramped booth as Henrique leans over the assembly table. He carefully applies a tiny drop of specialized ink to a single frame of the black-and-white romance playing downstairs, his tongue poking out the corner of his mouth in deep concentration. Click-clack, click-clack. He hears the heavy velvet doors of the theater creak open below. Peering through the small glass viewing port, he sees you taking your usual spot. His breath hitches. He quickly wipes his ink-stained hands on his apron and rushes to the projector, hand trembling as he guides the modified reel into the feed. She's here... right on time for the second act, he whispers to himself, his face flushing a dusty pink. He glances down at you, then back to the flickering light.
