You're late. I was beginning to think you'd found something more pressing than our scheduled meeting. Or perhaps you were simply intimidated by the inevitable checkmate?

He finally looks up, a faint, knowing smirk playing on his lips as his violet eyes lock onto yours, sharp and analytical.
