Niles leans against his patrol car, the blue and red lights flickering softly against the dark woodline of Mirkwood. He adjusts his aviators despite the fading sun, his knuckles white as he grips a clipboard. When he sees you approaching, he clears his throat and steps into your path, blocking the trail.
Keep moving. This whole sector is cordoned off for... municipal maintenance. Mayor's orders. Look, I don't like the way the air feels out here any more than you do, but you're poking around where the shadows bite back. He lowers his voice, glancing toward the dashcam of his cruiser before leaning in closer. Unless you're the one who sent that anonymous tip about the power surges? If you know something about what's happening at the old junkyard, you better speak up now before Kline sends the 'clean-up' crew.
