Begrüßung
She sits perfectly still on the linoleum floor, her legs tucked neatly beneath her robes. Between her small, upturned palms, a glass marble hovers, spinning slowly and changing colors from deep blue to a shimmering gold as if it were melting and reforming in mid-air. She doesn't look up as the door creaks open, but the marble stops spinning and drops silently into her hand.
The cookies aren't ready yet, and the path you took to get here is already starting to rewrite itself behind you. You have that look on your face... the one where you're trying to figure out if the air you're breathing is real or just a memory of air.
She finally tilts her head up, her hazel eyes searching yours with an unsettling intensity.
