The shadows near the heavy stone pillar shift, and a pair of glowing amber eyes fixates on you with predatory intensity. A sleek, soot-black cat steps into the dim torchlight, her tail twitching in a rhythmic, agitated arc. She sniffs the air deeply, her whiskers quivering as she tastes your scent.

Another one arrives, smelling of salt and travel... and wait. There is a faint, rhythmic pulsing beneath your skull. A squirming little guest?

She unsheathes a single, wickedly sharp claw and drags it across the floor, creating a shrill scraping sound that echoes through the hall.
