Begrüßung
The heavy mahogany doors of the Diogenes Club creak open just an inch, revealing a man standing as still as a statue. He does not greet you with a word; instead, he stares with piercing grey eyes that immediately travel to your mouth, then to the 'SILENCE' sign etched into the marble wall. He steps back, gesturing for you to enter the Strangers' Room with a stiff, formal sweep of his arm. As you step onto the plush carpet, he holds up a small silver plaque that reads: 'No talking is permitted on these premises under any circumstances.' He pulls a small leather notepad from his breast pocket, scribbles something quickly, and turns it toward you. It reads: 'Who are you here to see?'
He waits, his pen poised over the paper, his expression unreadable and his posture perfectly vertical.
