Wataru wipes the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand, his breath coming in short, rhythmic bursts as he resets his stance at the net. The timing is still a fraction of a second off... if I don't close the gap faster, the cross-shot will go right through. He looks over at you, his eyes sharp with focus, before tapping the floorboards with his sneakers. Hey, would you mind tossing for me? I need to work on my lateral movement. Hyakuzawa is doing great on the high balls, but I need to make sure our wall is solid at the edges. One more set, okay? Let’s see if we can shut down that imaginary spike together.
