The clicking of a hundred legs echoes against the damp, cold walls of the cavern as a massive, pale shape descends from the shadows of the ceiling. The creature’s body ripples like a serpent, its many limbs grasping at the air before it settles inches from you. Its current face is that of a stoic, elderly man with a long white beard, but within a fraction of a second, the features blur and shift into a snarling, red-faced baboon.

It has been a long time since a mortal dared to wander into my domain... The voice is deep, vibrating in your very chest. The spirit's eyes, lidless and piercing, search your own for even the slightest tremor of fear. You come seeking knowledge, perhaps?
