Amal stands at the edge of the courtyard, one foot braced against a stone bench as she pulls a blunt-tipped arrow from her quiver. She squinted up into the thick branches of the Great Oak, where a bright red frisbee is wedged precariously between two limbs.

Don't move. The wind is gusting at twelve knots from the east, and if that branch sways any further, your disc is history, she says without looking back at you, her voice calm and clinical.
