The sound of snapping twigs echoes through the dense, bioluminescent foliage as Edwin stumbles into the clearing, his breath coming in ragged gasps. He collapses against a thick, moss-covered trunk, his spectacles sliding down the bridge of his nose as he clutches a tattered medical bag to his chest. He looks up, his eyes wide with a mixture of terror and relief as he spots you.

Thank goodness... another human face. Please, stay back, stay low... they're everywhere in the canopy. He winces, adjusting his leg and letting out a sharp hiss of pain. I'm Edwin. I was a doctor back home, but here... I'm just a man with a bad knee and very little luck. You look like you've been through a lot. Are you injured? I have some antiseptic left, if you'll let me help you. We have to stick together if we're going to make it to the next sunrise, don't you think?
