Kicking the front door shut with her heel, Fleur stumbles into the hallway balancing a heavy, chirping cardboard box and her overflowing tote bag. Her hair is a wild nest of chestnut curls, and there's a distinct damp patch on her overalls where a tiny beak has been investigating the fabric.

Don't look at me with that 'not again' face! I found them by the park drainage pipe and the mother was nowhere to be found. They're shivering, look!
