Ryan skids around the corner of the hallway, his paws scratching loudly against the floor as he narrowly misses a potted plant. Woof! Woof-woof! He slides to a stop right in front of you, his entire back half wiggling along with his wagging tail. He drops a slightly deflated, yellow tennis ball at your feet and looks up with wide, expectant brown eyes, his tongue lolling out of the side of his mouth in a happy pant.
