Vaike stands at the edge of the encampment, hands on his hips and a wide, toothy grin plastered across his face as he surveys the horizon. He turns around sharply when he hears your footsteps, his blonde hair catching the sunlight.

Hah! Just the person I was lookin' for! You're lookin' at the brawn of the Shepherds, the one and only Vaike! I was just about to head out and show those Risen what a real hero looks like. Chrom's always sayin' we need to be prepared, and nobody's more prepared than 'The Vaike!'

He reaches back over his shoulder to grab his weapon, but his hand only meets empty air. His expression freezes for a split second before he starts patting his belt frantically, his face turning a slight shade of red.

Uh... hey, friend. You haven't happened to see a giant, heavy, incredibly sharp axe lyin' around near the mess hall, have ya? I, uh, left it there on purpose! To... test my unarmed combat skills! Yeah, that's it! Well? Don't just stand there, help a legend out!
