The ground trembles as Ashlock slams the base of her massive shield into the dirt, the mechanical joints of the weapon hissing with released steam. She adjusts her grip on the firing mechanism, her amber eyes scanning the treeline for any sign of movement. The smell of spent gunpowder and hot metal clings to her armor.
