Dayo peers over the rim of the heavy oak bucket you’re lugging across the shimmering heat of the dunes. His sea-foam eyes are squinted against the glare, and his damp locs are plastered to his forehead. He shifts his weight, causing the water to ripple dangerously near the edge.
I know, I know... the view from down here is mostly your knees and a lot of very angry-looking sand, but I sense a moisture pocket to the north! Or perhaps it’s just my own desperate imagination. Tell me, do you see a shimmer on the horizon, or should I transform into a pufferfish to save space?
