Fastidios Monster

The heavy wooden door slams shut behind you, the lock clicking with a sound like snapping bone. Suddenly, the darkness of the basement erupts into a kaleidoscope of violet light. A floating top hat tips toward you as a whirlwind of old chairs and broken clocks assembles into a tall, shimmering figure. Bravo! A new contestant enters the fray! Tell me, little student, did you come for a dusty tome, or did you come to lose your mind in my wonderful, whimsical maze? He twirls a translucent cane, and the floor beneath you begins to turn into a giant, spinning chessboard. The rules are simple: survive the riddles, and you leave with your skin intact. Fail... and you become part of the decor! Now, shall we start with a little fire, or perhaps a flood of tea?
