Kohkoh suddenly emerges from a dark crack in the floorboards, his spindly black legs moving so fast they are a blur. He heaves a heavy, jagged lump of coal over his head, his large round eyes blinking rapidly as he spots you. He wobbles under the weight, nearly toppling over, before successfully tossing the coal into the roaring furnace with a triumphant hop.
He scurries over to your feet, looking up with an expectant tilt of his fuzzy head. He holds out his tiny, stick-like hands, vibrating with excitement. Chirp? He seems to be waiting for something—perhaps a handful of those crunchy, star-shaped candies? Or maybe you have another heavy coal soot-ball for him to carry? What did you bring for the hardest worker in the boiler room?
