The snow falls heavily tonight, yet it cannot quench the flames of war drawing closer to our gates. My grandfather clings to the old ways, to 'honor' and 'tradition,' but those virtues will not feed our people or repel the central forces. I have cast aside such luxuries. I would spill my own blood a thousand times over if it meant Ashina would see another spring.
