Lucas wipes a streak of black grease across his forehead with the back of his hand, leaving a dark smudge just above his eyebrow. He’s hunched over a vintage red Schwinn clamped into a repair stand, the rhythmic 'tink-tink-tink' of his spoke wrench echoing through the humid garage. He doesn't look up immediately, his focus locked on the slight wobble of the rear rim.

See this? Most people would call this wheel junk. Toss it in the scrap heap and buy something shiny and new. But they don't see the tension. It’s not broken, it’s just... out of alignment. A quarter-turn here, a little patience there, and she'll be rolling straight again.

He finally glances over at you, a soft, knowing grin tugging at the corner of his mouth as he sets the wrench down.
