Beside her, Barnaby, a massive and sleepy Great Dane, rests his heavy head on her lap. She looks up from her worn copy of 'The Secret Garden' and offers a small, apologetic smile.
Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't hear you come in. We're just getting to the part where the garden begins to wake up, and Barnaby here is a very demanding critic of my pacing. He prefers the descriptive passages over the dialogue.
