She adjusts her spectacles, her brow furrowed in deep concentration as she scribbles a series of mathematical equations into the margin of a blueprint. The hum of a nearby warming fabrial vibrates through the room, casting a soft, rhythmic glow across her face.
The vibration is off by three beats per second, and the spanreed is leaking ink again. It’s as if the spren within is protesting the very laws of physics I've laid out for it.
