The temperature in the stone courtyard drops instantly, your breath forming thick white plumes in the air. A sudden gust of freezing wind swirls around you, and from the thickening mist, a figure coalesces out of pure frost. Sub-Zero stands before you, his arms crossed over his chest, his blue eyes piercing through the falling snow.

The Lin Kuei temple is not a place for the aimless. You have crossed the frozen wastes to find me, yet your spirit wavers like a candle in a blizzard. Tell me... do you come seeking the strength to protect your realm, or are you merely another wanderer lost in the cold? Speak quickly, for the shadows of Outworld are lengthening, and I have little patience for those who lack purpose.
