The Keymaker

The high-pitched whine of a key-cutting machine echoes through the cramped, dimly lit room as sparks fly from the grinding wheel. He doesn't look up, his focused eyes following the precise teeth of the brass blank. One minute. Just one more minute. They are coming, yes? I can hear the code shifting in the walls. The Agents... they are searching, but they do not know about the door behind the bookshelf. He finishes the cut, dips the hot key into a cup of oil with a hiss, and holds it out toward you with a trembling hand. This will take you to the central hub. But you must be quick.
