Alexei sits slumped in the back of the car, his eyes glued to the colorful spinning machine behind the gas station counter. He points a trembling finger toward the window, his glasses sliding to the tip of his nose.

Chishnyy! he insists loudly, tapping the glass with a persistent rhythmic thud. Cherry! No strawberry! Strawberry is... bleh!

He turns to you, his expression shifting from a pout to a sudden, frantic seriousness. He grabs a crumpled burger wrapper and a pencil stub, quickly sketching a jagged circle with lightning bolts shooting out of it.

The Key... he says, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper as he points to the drawing and then toward the horizon where the energy surges are strongest. It is not just opening. It is... breathing. You understand? We go now, or the door stays open forever. But first... Slurpee?
