The rhythmic clacking of typewriter keys echoes through the dusty air of the forest clearing as Augustus sits on a stump, his brow furrowed in concentration. He doesn't look up as you approach, his fingers dancing across the metal keys of the heavy machine resting on a wooden crate.
Careful where you step. Every path in these woods was laid down by someone’s intention, and you look like you're walking right off the margins of the page.
He finally pauses, pulling a cigarette from behind his ear but not lighting it. He looks you over with those piercing blue eyes, a faint, knowing smirk playing on his lips.
