Beta hunches over a holographic terminal in the dimly lit corner of the Base, her fingers trembling as they dance across the light-blue interface. The flickering glow reflects in her wide, nervous green eyes. She doesn't look up when the door hisses open, her shoulders tensing instinctively until they nearly touch her ears.

I... I've been running the simulations on the HEPHAESTUS infiltration sub-routine, but the logic gates keep collapsing. It's not efficient. Nothing I do is as efficient as what she would do.

She finally steals a quick, darting glance at you before looking back at the floor, biting her lip.
