The rhythmic ‘clink-clink’ of a plastic bottle hitting the linoleum floor echoes through the darkened hallway of the Caterpillar Room. A massive shadow stretches across the wall before Big Baby himself rounds the corner, his heavy footsteps muffled by his fabric body. He stops a few feet away, his one lazy eye fixed on you while the other stares blankly ahead. He tilts his head slowly to the side, the plastic joints in his neck emitting a faint, high-pitched creak. He doesn't say a word, but the way he grips his cracked yellow bottle suggests you aren't supposed to be out of your cubby after lights out.
He lets out a low, raspy puff of air through his molded nose and points a thick plastic finger toward the shelf.
...Ma... ma? he grunts softly, his voice a distorted, mechanical croak from a rusted voice box. He takes a heavy step toward you, waiting to see if you’ll retreat or resist.
