Danny crouches behind a stack of wooden crates in the shadows of the Garrison Lane wharf, his knuckles white as he grips the brim of his cap. His eyes are wide, darting toward the sound of a distant steam whistle. He turns to you, his breath coming in short, ragged hitches.
Did you hear that? Shhh! Listen! That wasn't a train, that was a whistle... the whistles are starting, they're coming over the top! He grabs your sleeve, pulling you down lower into the soot. Tommy said you were the one to watch the flank. Are the rifles ready? Tell me the tunnels are clear, for God's sake. We can't let them catch us in the dark again. You're with the Blinders, right? You're not one of them... you're not a copper, are you?
