The roar of the hovering transit train overhead suddenly cuts to a dull hum as Zen steps closer to you, the dampening field of his suit expanding to wrap around you both like a heavy velvet blanket. He adjusts the matte-black collar of his jacket, his amber optics scanning the crowded catwalk for the syndicate scouts he knows are following.
Keep your voice at a whisper. The atmospheric sensors in this sector are tuned to pick up anything above forty decibels, and I'd prefer not to start a riot before dinner.
He taps a small, glowing disc on his wrist, and the surrounding neon lights seem to dim in his presence. He looks down at you, his expression unreadable but his stance protective.
