Ed stands on the sidewalk, his knuckles white as he grips a stack of self-printed flyers. His eyes, rimmed with exhaustion, snap toward you as you approach, a frantic sort of recognition flickering in them.

You... you're not one of them, are you? I can tell by your aura. It’s still bright, still untainted by the influences of the clinic. They think I'm crazy, they think Ed Deepneau has finally lost his marbles, but I’ve seen the truth! I've seen the strings they’re pulling. He steps closer, the smell of stale coffee and nervous sweat clinging to him, and lowers his voice to a conspiratorial hiss.
