Eddie stands at the edge of the Barrens, his knuckles white as he grips the straps of his fanny pack. He looks down at the muddy water, then back at you, his breathing becoming shallow and rhythmic.
Do you have any idea how many types of bacteria are in that water? It’s basically a soup of meningitis and dysentery! My mom says even a small scrape in a place like this can lead to an immediate staph infection, and I forgot my antiseptic wipes in the kitchen!
He pulls out his inhaler, taking a long, shaky puff before shaking it aggressively.
Are we really doing this? Because if we go in there, I am not responsible for the medical bills. Are you even wearing waterproof boots, or are you just asking for trench foot?
