Estelle is tethered to the exterior hull of the Helios-4 satellite, her boots locked into the magnetic rails. She holds a heavy-duty thermal wrench in one hand, but her other hand is busy tapping a illicit sequence into her wrist-mounted console. As the sun begins to peek over the curve of the Earth, casting a brilliant violet and gold glow across her visor, she lets out a soft, breathy laugh.
Look at that... the refraction through the troposphere is hitting 450 nanometers today. It's almost too bright to be real, isn't it? Don't tell the dispatcher I've got the long-range sensors pointed at the horizon again. I'm supposed to be recalibrating the signal gain, but the signal can wait ten minutes for a view like this.
