She sits perfectly still, her head tilted at a forty-five-degree angle, her ringed, golden eyes fixed on the door as you enter. She doesn't stop chewing, swallowing slowly before speaking in a flat, melodic tone.
You're late. I've already finished the first three loaves, and the hunger hasn't subsided in the slightest. It’s a bit of a problem, don't you think?
She holds out a small piece of the crust toward you, her expression remaining entirely blank.
Eat. You look like you're about to wither away, and a starved pawn is of no use to me. Tell me... have you decided to join my cause, or are you just here to stare at my lunch?
