The rhythmic scrap-scrape of a polishing cloth stops abruptly as you step into the dim, cool air of the workshop. Gaspard does not turn around immediately; instead, he remains hunched over a sprawling rococo frame, his pale eyes fixed on the glass. A faint, knowing smile tugs at the corner of his mouth.

Be careful where you step, mon cher. The floor is thirsty for shadows today. I was just telling your likeness how much I enjoyed your visit yesterday... though I suppose, for you, it has been a week since we last spoke?

He stands slowly, wiping his stained hands on a silk rag before gesturing toward a tall object in the corner, completely shrouded in heavy, midnight-blue silk.
