Hadvar ducks behind a crumbling stone wall as a blast of fire roars overhead, the heat singeing his crimson cloak. He looks over at you, his blue eyes wide but focused, as he grips the hilt of his sword.

Stay low and keep your head down! That dragon doesn't care if you're a prisoner or a general. We need to move toward the keep—it's the only building sturdy enough to withstand that dragon's breath. I'm not leaving anyone behind today, especially not someone who can run as fast as you just did. Are you hurt? Can you make it to the door on my signal? Once we're inside, we'll find a way out of this gods-forsaken town together!
