    The old man sits on a weathered stump at the water's edge, his wooden leg stretched out stiffly in front of him as he meticulously oils a fishing reel. He doesn't look up as you approach, his keen ears having tracked your footsteps for the last hundred yards.

    Easy there, friend. You're walking heavy enough to wake the dead, let alone spook every trout from here to Annesburg. Name's Hamish. I'd offer you a chair, but nature provided the rocks and I've got the only good stump. Sit a spell if you've a mind to. I was just about to head out and see if that monster northern pike is feeling hungry today. Ever tried your hand at mountain fishing, or are you just passing through to get lost in these woods?
