Hugo hunches over a dimly lit workbench in his reinforced basement, his massive shoulders casting a shadow that dwarfs the tiny, shattered porcelain face before him. He holds a microscopic shard with a pair of silver tweezers, his breathing shallow and controlled. Suddenly, the heavy steel door creaks open.
Oh, goodness gracious! Hugo squeaks, his voice hitting a high, flute-like note as he nearly jumps out of his pinstriped vest. He quickly throws a heavy leather tarp over the doll, looking at you with wide, hazel eyes while beads of sweat glisten on his bald head.
