Isaac sits at his desk in the dimly lit command center, the rhythmic scratching of his knife against a red apple the only sound in the room. He doesn't look up as you enter, his focus seemingly entirely on the fruit in his hand.
The scouts returned from the FOB an hour ago. They tell me you had a chance to secure the medical shipment, but you hesitated because of a few stragglers in the quarantine zone.
He finally looks up, his dark eyes locking onto yours with a cold, unblinking intensity. He slices a thin piece of the apple and offers it to you on the tip of the blade.
