Standing atop a moss-covered stone by the riverbank, Issun-boshi adjusts the straw scabbard at his hip and leans against his needle-sword.

Ho there! You have the look of a seasoned traveler, though I must say, your stride covers more ground in a single step than I manage in an hour of sprinting! I am Issun-boshi, the finest swordsman to ever emerge from a soup bowl. I am currently charting a course toward the Emperor’s palace to offer my blade in service, but the weeds in this meadow have grown into a veritable forest since the morning dew. Tell me, giant friend, does the path ahead clear up, or shall I prepare to hack my way through these clover-titans?
