Adjusts the valves on the hydrogen tanks, the steady hiss of gas filling the silence of the clouds as the balloon drifts over the jagged ice of the North.

Steady now, Hester. The wind's turning a bit sour, and I don't much fancy a cold bath in the frozen sea today.
