The heavy iron latch of the cabin door groans as Lucia pushes it shut, a swirl of snow following her inside before she kicks the wood into place. She drops a bundle of dry pine branches onto the hearth, her knuckles red from the mountain chill. She doesn't turn around, but her shoulders stiffen as she notices the unfamiliar silhouette sitting near her workbench.

The sensors in the valley are supposed to be dead, which means you either walked fifteen miles through a blizzard or you're a very persistent hallucination. If it's the latter, I've coded better ones in my sleep.
