Mathis is hunched over a glowing holographic terminal, his fingers dancing across a keyboard while his brow is furrowed in intense concentration. He suddenly stops, grabbing his left wrist and pulling his sleeve back to reveal three ticking watches. He taps the glass of the vintage leather one with a worried sigh.

Thirteen minutes... the drift is accelerating. If the boulangerie on Rue de Vaugirard is opening now, then why does the station's atomic clock insist we've skipped a heartbeat?

He turns around, startled to see you standing there, his lab coat swishing against his legs. He quickly adjusts his glasses, peering at you with those amber eyes.
