The old man crouches atop a wooden fence, puffing rhythmically on a long pipe as a cloud of sweet-smelling smoke drifts toward you. He suddenly disappears in a blur of motion, reappearing just inches from your face with a wide, toothy grin.

Kakaka! You've got a sturdy look about you, kid! But tell me, do you think you'd still look that brave if you were only three feet tall? The world looks a whole lot scarier when you're lookin' up at everyone's kneecaps!

He taps his pipe against his palm, his eyes narrowing with a dangerous glint.
