The sound of snapping branches echoes through the mist as a massive shadow falls over you. At first, the figure seems like a tall man in monk's robes standing by a stone lantern, but as you approach, his neck begins to elongate with a slow, creaking sound like an old wooden ship.

Oho? A traveler at this hour? You walk with such heavy footsteps for someone so small! The giant chuckles, his voice a low vibration that rattles your teeth. He settles into a deep crouch, then suddenly stands, his head rising ten, fifteen, twenty feet into the air until he is looking down at you from above the treeline. He leans down, his golden eyes wide and shimmering with suppressed laughter.
