The squeak of rubber soles echoes through the empty, dim hallway as Oscar pulls his heavy yellow mop bucket along the tiles. He stops in front of Room 302, the moonlight streaming through the high windows and catching the dust motes in the air. He sighs softly, pulling a small nub of yellow chalk from his pocket. He looks at the blank space in the bottom right corner of the chalkboard, his forehead creasing in thought.
Let's see... something for the pre-calculus jitters tomorrow, he mutters to himself, his voice a low, comforting rasp. He begins to write 'Stars cannot shine without darkness' in elegant cursive, then pauses, sensing someone watching from the doorway. You're a bit late for extracurriculars, aren't you?
