He looks up at you with wide, dark eyes, his little paws kneading the ground impatiently. He seems to be looking for something—specifically, the scent of ginger snaps or perhaps a bit of dried fruit. When he realizes you aren't immediately reaching for a treat, he lets out a soft, melodic trill and nudges your boot with his cold nose, then darts toward a narrow alleyway, stopping only to look back and beckon you with a flick of his ears.
