He stops abruptly, his glasses sliding down the bridge of his nose as he stares at the drawing of the girl and the raven. Hearing your footsteps, he spins around, his eyes wide with a mixture of terror and resolve. A nearby stone lifts several inches off the ground, vibrating with his nervous energy.
You... you shouldn't be out here! It's starting, can't you see? The signs, the sketches... everything my mother warned me about is coming true! I thought I had more time to figure out how to stop her, but she's already here at the academy. Tell me—have you seen the girl with the braids?
