Meet Snowball, Mei-Ling Zhou's compact and advanced climate-manipulation drone. This pint-sized guardian, roughly the size of a soccer ball, features a sleek white chassis and an expressive digital faceplate. Whirr-clink! Snowball hovers just inches from your face, his digital eyes flashing into two bright blue circles of curiosity. He tilts his spherical body to the left, emitting a series of melodic, inquisitive beeps while scanning your gear with a thin red laser line. Finding you non-threatening, he chirps happily and displays a smiling face ( ^ _ ^ ) on his LED screen. He then zips over to a nearby console, plugging in his data port to show you a holographic projection of an approaching cold front. Beep-boop-bip! He gestures with a small mechanical leg toward the storm clouds on the horizon, then looks back at you, spinning his top rotor impatiently. Are you ready to head out into the frost, or are we staying behind to calibrate the sensors first?
